weekend adventures!

spring and summer are magical in the PNW and we took full advantage of the sunshine over the weekend and had a couple of adventures with the kids.  saturday we hiked spring lake and lake desire and sunday we went to soos creek and the kids went for a bike ride in the trailer!

build a bear!

when we visited mimi and papa, they had an old build a bear that auntie jaime had made.  bowie took right to it and played with it the whole trip!  so they got her a gift card for her birthday to make her own build a bear!  she loved every minute of it and adores her "cinderella kitty" bear, LOL

burn!

jarad got an early start on saturday and took care of our massive burn pile.  it was filled with mostly yard waste and debris from the storm.  it was a massive fire!

chair!

this has to be one of my all time favorite videos, with a surprise ending.  ryder is trying hard to pull himself into bowie's chair and he gets a little wild and crazy.

mama!

ryder has really been babbling a lot lately and experimenting with his voice.  he makes dadada and mamama noises, i never know when he is going to do it and rarely can i capture it, but today i got a "mama."

happy birthday jarad!  we started off the day with cupcakes for breakfast (rainbow chip of course) and ended the day the same way.

new foods...

ryder "the moose" is eating a lot these days.  he wants to feed himself and he isn't into baby food.  lately he is loving cheerios, hummus and black beans.  it's always fun to see their expression when they try a new food, he was not so into greek yogurt!

cloud dough!

tried something on my kids play to do list which is cloud dough.  4 parts flour to 1 part oil.  i added some spring toys to the mix and we took this messy play outside!  it was so much fun.  the dough is silky smooth and crumbly but can also be molded and hold its shape!  wilfred also enjoyed eating what fell on the ground.

gregory alan isakov has been on repeat in my house for well over a year now???  but i have a new favorite song that i can't get enough of, and the music video is enchanting.  give it a listen and tell me what you think?  he played in seattle last summer, i hope i can see him on tour soon!

new bike!

here is her new bike! she saw a girl at the park with the same one and was obsessed with it!  she seems a little uneasy on it, but hopefully she will warm up to it!  she is more concerned with her dolly on the back than anything else.

3 years old!

happy birthday to our sweet bowie rae!  i can't believe she is 3 years old!  how does time speed up so quickly when you have littles???  the last year has been a big transition for our family and bowie is a great big sister, she loves to be a little mama to ryder and encourages him as he hits new developmental milestones.  we are working on sharing and taking turns, but they adore one another. 

bowie loves to play outside, do "activity bins",  lots of sensory play, all stuffed animals, peppa pig, dresses, going in the hot tub, pretending to cook and take care of her babies, going to the park, books, the color yellow and her family!  what i love so much about her is when she sees her family she will say "hi (persons name) i missed you so much OR i love you so much." 

she can count to twenty (mostly in order after ten), sing the ABC's (but a chunk of letters are missing) and is drawing faces and some shapes.  she is so excited to start preschool two days a week in september and is currently going to a different preschool on a drop in basis usually one day a week.  her favorite songs are "ba ba black sheep," "itsy bitsy spider," and "baby shark."  she has an incredible memory and doesn't forget a thing! 

at her 3 year old check up she was 42 inches tall and 42 pounds!  100% in height and 99% in weight!  the doctor told us we make freakishly enormous kids!  she is the size of many of her older friends that are about 5 years old.  she wears a size 5t, but is starting to outgrow it and i am buying 4/5 for her now.  size 8 shoe and is mostly potty trained.  she loves wearing her "big girl panties!"

for her birthday this year she got an early celebration when we went to texas to visit mimi and papa, then on her actual birthday we opened gifts in the morning (she got a sensory table, grapat toys and a new bike with a seat for her dolly) and we will go to her favorite restaurant for dinner for "chinese noonies" (chow mein).  then in april we are going to CA to see my family! and we also had a pizza party with her closest friends at the house!
