quarantine egg salad
we had some hard boiled eggs that weren't getting eaten as fast, since jarad is working from home and i usually pack them in his lunch. so this recipe was inspired by dan levy's instagram stories, and apparently this is his dad's (eugine levy) famous egg salad recipe (which i think is pretty typical, maybe the grating the egg part is different?)
how to:
grate hard boiled eggs (i used 3), little mustard, heaping tablespoon of mayo to start and salt and pepper to taste. serve on your favorite toasted bread.

organizing
the apple doesn't fall far from the tree, and this little guy has a new passion for organizing the art caddy. he likes to take out all the markers, crayons and coloring books and move them around from one side to the other and do this over and over, he did this for over an hour the other day and requested to do it all over again in the afternoon.

birthday celebration
quarantine birthday celebrations are hard. it feels sad to not be able to properly celebrate our loved ones. it started last week with bowie's birthday and now today with jarad's birthday. he left early this morning to help a friend move all day and then made his own dinner. chicken wings are his fav and he has perfected cooking them, therefor he made his own birthday dinner. at least the cupcakes were on point and the love and appreciation we have for him we have is out of this world.
furbaby
we are still keeping a close eye on him, but i think he is feeling more and more like himself after his scare last weekend.
happy birthday!
happy birthday to my main squeeze. the best dad and husband and who gets more handsome and goofier every year! we love you!!! xoxo

invitation to decorate easter eggs
simple invitation to create easter eggs with cardboard, dot markers, kwik stix and paint chips!
i'm all about super simple invitations to create with things we have around the house. jarad used a template to cut easter eggs out of cardboard and i set it out for her with some simple supplies. i will probably bring this out again so we can add to her creations with more glued on paint chips or glitter glue...stay tuned to round 2!

getting fruity
not our normal cereal choice, but these fruit loops make for some fun kids activities. pattern making, lacing on pasta, making edible necklaces or color sorting.
i set it up for both kids and ryder got a bit frustrated trying to lace them on pasta and bowie made patterns. and it also doubles as snack time. use cheerios for a healthier option.

loobia polo
more quarantine cooking creations. my best friend is persain and this is my favorite dish her family would make. it is a rice dish with green beans and traditionally ground beef (but i used ground turkey instead). no where near as good as hers, but still delicious and good for the soul.
homework!
today for our school work we are practicing writing the upper case alphabet and doing a furniture counting scavenger hunt!
oil and water
this is a super easy and fun one, and i guarantee you have everything you need. on a small dish (i'm using a toaster oven pan) spread a very thing layer of oil, but enough to cover the surface. then using food coloring or liquid water colors and pipettes make little dots on the oil and see if you can color mix or squeeze them back into the pipettes.
