i haven't been thrifting much lately, but when i take the kids to jui jitsu it gives me the perfect opportunity to run into the local thrift store close by.  this vintage blenko top hat vase will make a nice addition to my fenton top hat collection!

the kids asked to look for yard sales this weekend, and we stumbled upon a really fun sale at a local bed and breakfast in town.  my fun find was this fenton frilly top hat!!!  i now have 3 of them, which is a great start to my vintage glass collection!

thrift find

quick thrift trip and i was about to walk out empty handed until i spotted this beauty.  she is vintage, she is classy, she is hand painted, made in england and numbered with a previous price tag of $298.00

tthis lady is made in the 1930's by a company called cope & co and is an art deco wall mask.  she has a bit of crazing, but is in great condition and will fit in beautifully in our bedroom.

new pretty

while i always look for fiesta dishes, i have so many and my newest obsession is vintage glass.  i am particularly drawn to pink, teal and green vintage glass.  fenton is one of my favorite brands to look for.  this pretty little tulip piece is coming home with me!

blue glass

i haven't been going thrifting regularly, as i am still recovering from a busy summer and trying to get things caught up around the house.  but i needed to drop some items off at donation this week and stopped in to find this beauty!  it is a vintage blue glass cake plate and it is gorgeous!  vintage glass is one of the newer items i am always looking for when treasure hunting.  i am especially drawn to it if it is blue or green.  this will make a lovely cake plate, but in the meantime it will be holding some of my house plants in the windowsill.

band shirt upcycle

i have this david bowie shirt that i got years ago from the clearance rack at old navy for a few bucks, but i never liked the style of the shirt (think 90's style crop top) so i never wore it.  but i am working on getting our master bedroom decorated and i had this pretty frame with a print that no longer brings me joy.  so i took the frame apart and stuck my old tee in there (i didn't even cut it up) and secured the back with some heavy duty duct tape.  i'm definitely digging this vibe!

thrifted treasures

this was a great day for some fun and unique finds.  i got a fiesta scarlet latte mug for $4, a 1.5 quart covered pyrex casserole dish with a cute sunflower pattern for $7 and a vintage green glass dish.

i will keep the green dish, and most likely sell the fiesta and pyrex.  i think i can get about $20 for the fiesta mug and about $50 for the pyrex.

milk glass candy dish

picked this beauty up at the thrift store for $5.50 and i had originally thought it would be a pretty planter for one of my pilea house plants.  but after i scored the console table, i knew this would be a perfect catch all for the entry way.

brand is E.O. Brody Co.  made in cleavland, ohio.  this piece is probably from the 1960's and is reselling for about $50

it is a keep for me!

vintage treasures

i am feeling very inspired and creative in working towards my goal of making our home feel authentic and full of character and interest.  today's fun find is a small strawberry jar with lid.  it was packaged in a bag and i could easily tell it was vintage (made of milk glass) and looked to be in great shape.  it made me happy and for $4, i couldn't pass it up.

i am not entirely sure what i will use it for, but had some cute ideas.  it could be used for a baby spider plant, so the green top would look  like the stem.  it would make  a great salt pinch bowl by the stove, hold sugar packets (for grandma) but for now, i like it as decoration next to my grandmother's bread box.

after doing a quick search, this is a atlas hazel strawberry jam jar, it was probably made in the 1950's.  it's not worth much, but it brings me joy!  looking at comps, it varies on different selling sites for $8-$35.00

this is a keep for me!

hand blown leopard glass vase

found this hand blown glass leopard vase/candle holder thrifting for $7.  it is heavy and beautiful, but i have no idea of a company, brand or artist.  i have moved it around a few times now, as it looks great by my plants on the windowsill in the kitchen and i also love it on the new console table.  i have it with a battery powered tealight, and it looks pretty when lite.

it is a keep for me!

thrifted treasure

found this concert poster of the decemberists and found a perfect little wall to hang it on. i'm a fan of the band, and this print was beautifully professionally framed. loving the moodiness in the hallway.

upcycle - entry way

i got this console table off of my local by nothing group, i knew i had the perfect spot for it so i gave it a light sanding got some new knobs for it and gave it a new life.

we have this small spot by our front door that never had a real entryway feeling to it. it had a plant stand and a mirror, but it never felt finished, although it never bothered me. i already had everything with the exception of the plant.  i recently thrifted the milk glass candy dish, i originally had it in mind as a planter, but this makes a perfect catch-all.

i'm feeling very creative and super inspired to make our home feel authentic. and for those of you who know me well, know this is spot on.

epic find

fiesta lilac chop plate! this is one of the most coveted colors amongst collectors as it had a small production period, and is a lovely color. it is in great condition and only $3!!!!!!!!! i could hardly believe my luck, as these are extremely rare to find in the wild.  if i were to resell this plate, it would typically go for $50

this is a keep for me!
