it's been a minute since we have visited our favorite animal sanctuary.  it's good to be back!

banjo

banjo has not been feeling well lately and it seemed to start after he got a haircut recently.  but after some testing, it seems that the underlying reason is he is in liver failure.  so for now we keep him happy and give him all the love and treats!

since i posted 11 days ago, the sunflower is now towering over me, no bloom yet.

i went through my closet the other day and found some concert tees that i don't wear anymore.  i didn't want to throw them out and one in particular i always really liked, so i reupholstered a dining room chair with an old kings of leon concert tee and i love the way it turned out!

we were eating dinner outside when i recognized that ping sound.

yes, it is the baby acorns hitting the deck, signaling to me that it is the middle of summer and we are getting to the point where i notice the mornings are darker later and the evenings are slowly getting shorter.  

sometimes this sign of summer coming to an end makes me really sad, but not this year.  i've also learned to get excited for the next season, and enjoy what is left of summer while it is here! 

i have been tracking this for a few years now and each year it seems to get 6 days shorter?  it will be interesting to see what happens next summer???
