i may have laundry coming out of my ears, dirty dishes and a messy house, but this mama is easter ready (well, about 90% ready!) and that feels good!

ending our mid winter break with a trip to the seattle aquarium. hard to believe it is our first time here, it was fun and we all especially loved the otters. then we headed to pike place for a walk through the market and the famous gum wall.

sanctuary
mid winter break would not be complete without a visit to our favorite farm to visit our favorite animals with our besties. followed by a picnic and trip to squawk valley park. another great day!

scavenger hunt
today was a fun day! we did a scavenger hunt with friends at kent station. it was a coco crawl, where participating stores handed out clues and supplies to build your own cup of hot chocolate. and at the end they got a free ice cream from cold stone. it was a cold but sunny day and we ended up getting lunch there and the kids played happily in the fountain and grassy areas.

snow play
not enough snow for sledding and what we do have won't last long, so i made some colored water in bottles and put out some left over water beads (from when it felt like spring last week) and let the kids play in the front yard.
snow?!?!?!?
last night around 7pm it started to snow, the flakes were as big as crackers. within an hour we had about an inch of snow and we woke up to this! with the beautiful weather we have been having, i surely thought we wouldn't get another snow this season, but i was mistaken!
gas works park - part 3 of 3
the last stop on our sunday family adventure day was gas works park. the kids have yet to meet a park they don't like, so it was a hit. and very different from any other park we have been to, with its urban feel and lake and city views (and of course a great view of the space needle).

DIY bath bombs
this came from my activity bag from maddie, and great timing to do while the kids are out of school this week!
you will need:
1 small box baking soda
1 cup corn starch
1 cup citric acid
food coloring (optional)
essential oil (optional)
3 T - 1/4 cup oil (i used olive oil)
combine all ingredients. start out with 3 T oil (i didn't want it too greasy or getting the tub slippery), i added one more and then switched to small amounts of water until the mixture was clumping and i could form in my hand. place in a mold or make balls. let sit and dry out for an hour. throw in bath and enjoy!
