liberty!!!

what are the chances we would run into liberty the mermaid on sucia island two years in a row???  bowie was calling for her with her tail and looking for her since the moment we landed on the island.

sucia island the perfect place to kayak, paddle board, rock climb and go hunting for mermaids!  big thanks to robin for bringing us over on his fancy new catamaran and letting the kids drive!

salmon fishing round 2

tonight was the last day of the salmon fishing season. we didn't have any luck last night, so we tried again. we didn't catch any salmon, but BOTH kids caught their own rock fish, which we threw back. another beautiful evening on the water and another spectacular sunset.

crabbing with the boys is a highlight for ryder the last two years at orcas. he is learning how to measure them, which ones to throw back, throw the buoy and how to crack them to eat. 

the girls took a separate boat to tag along and bowie learned how to drive the boat. we also checked out the seals and had lunch on the beach.
