perfecting our 80's themed summer vibes

birthday boy!

this is 7!!!  officially on summer break and we had a family day in seattle.  we had pizza, rode the giant ferris wheel and walked the market.  his dinner request was taco time and ice cream cake!  and his presents were mostly legos, he had a great day!

this boy has a soft spot in his heart for senior dogs and cricket is his favorite!  she is our neighbors dog and ryder loves to cuddle and lay with her.  unfortunately her health is not good and we said our goodbyes to her today 😭

vanilla marigold

this was one of my mothers day gifts to myself, when i went crazy at the nursery.  i have never seen "vanilla marigolds" before, but i plant this flower every summer.  so here they are in bloom.  they are subtle and pretty!  i don't find them as fragrant as the yellow and orange variety, but they look really nice next to my "hot lips" salvia plant.

this girl has been trying so many new things lately and really pushing her boundaries.  i am so proud of her and her courage and perseverance.

fathers day 2025

happy fathers day to our rock!  the kids got him a scooter and are excited to go scootering like they did together in florida.

kids school carnival was tonight, sorry no pics cause i was working the concessions the whole time.  BUT...this is my 3rd year in a row winning a raffle basket!!!  i won the gardening basket, very excited!

 volunteer luncheon at school.  this year i took on the more than i would have liked to (PTA treasurer, popcorn chair, art docent, volunteer in ryder's class, field trip chaperone and filled in many other gaps in the PTA)  next year i will be sticking to what fills my cup most, volunteering directly in the kids classrooms and doing popcorn fridays every other week.
