tomorrow is the first "official" day of fall, so we did a halloween craft as a family.  we picked out a 5 piece nutcracker set from the craft store and decorated them with acrylic paint pens.

first pack meeting

feels good to get back to our rhythm.  this week the kids are starting up their after school activities and this was our first scout meeting.  bowie was thrilled to receive a metal for the fishing derby, and ryder was excited to have some friends join his den!

cross country

the kids started cross country this evening.  ryder had fun with it and knew several kids from school in his group, but bowie did not enjoy it.  hopefully our next session on thursday will be better...

crafting

bowie and grandma did a lot of bead work over summer, and bowie is still at it.  she is enjoying using pony beads and cord to make rainbow lizards, flower key chains and dragon flies.  

scout kinda weekend

to my surprise, they wanted to pick up another shift selling popcorn this afternoon. this comes after two other shifts this weekend, a scout fishing derby and just finishing our scout hike. it's a cub scout kind of weekend!  we even had a repeat customer and were supported by friends and school staff, it was a good day!
