we had dinner with our neighbors and some new friends and braved the rain to go trick or treating in black diamond.  ryder was darth vader and bowie was alice in wonderland

this is the kids favorite!  our local hardware store puts this on every year and they love getting creative with all the screws, bolts, keys, washers, chains, etc.  this is a winner!!!

 

candy catapult

the library held a fun halloween event today and the kids favorite part was building and testing out their own candy catapult

2 days apart

this is our japanese maple tree in the front yard, this is the time of year where it is at its peak of beauty!  the transformation happens quickly and the end result is the most vibrant intense red leaves.  these pictures were taken two days apart, so you can see how it is changing.

windstorm left us without power.  jarad wasn't at home, but was able to talk me through where the cable was and how to connect it from the truck to the generator switch.  it was so easy and silent.  this car blows my mind!

the local hardware store had a kids bulb planting activity this morning

school play

i am so proud of these kiddos for stepping out of their comfort zone and trying something new.  they auditioned and had rehearsals after school for 4 days straight before putting on the play "alice in wonderland" in front of the school and then again in the evening for friends and family.  the days were long and they worked hard but i think they had a positive experience and would consider doing it again.  

fire season

had our first frost last night, fire season is upon us!

tourists

i got free museum passes to the pop culture museum and we took advantage of the crystal clear skies to check out the space needle next door.  we had a fun day date while the kids were in school, and it was fun to play tourist in our own city.

happy hour

the kids are participating in a school play with after school rehearsals all week. jarad and i took advantage of the late pick up with a happy hour!

farm

after we completed the corn maze there was plenty more to see around the farm and pumpkin patch.  we had so much fun, we all decided it will be our new fall family tradition.
