the thing about holidays during a pandemic is i feel like we celebrate them for a LONG time beforehand. we have done so many halloween activities, spooky events, drive throughs/walk throughs, truck or treating, school parties, books, pumpkin pizzas and treats! but today is actually halloween and the kids are excited to be able to go trick or treating. bowie is a mermaid and ryder is a skeleton.
today we went to bramlee woods haunted house. it was a fun walk through that this family puts on every year. we have never been and they had a pumpkin scavenger hunt and lots of fun decorations. the kids loved the inflatables and the unique skeleton collection they had (including skeleton mermaids).
the community center put on a great trick or treating event for kids with lots of big trucks that they could visit, check out and even climb on. and of course get candy! a big hit!
halloween party at ryder's preschool and luckily the parents were able to attend this year. lots of games, treats and smiles!
we got to walk through the summit middle school haunted halloween set. it was a mix between pirates and the haunted house. we walked through 3 times and it was lots of fun to see it all up close.
tried to go to a zombie walk in downtown issaquah, but it was a disappointment. it was unorganized and no one was really in charge of it, but we did see a few zombies and got some fun fall pics.

had to take aunt laura to meet our favorite animal friends at the sammamish animal sanctuary. the goats loved her!
ryder's teacher asked if i would make some fall sensory bottles for class. i have made her sensory bottles before and this time we did a three series leaf color progression.
today we took grandma and grandpa to check out the salmon at belmondos reach. they had naturalists there explaining the process and we saw a female salmon at the shore who was near her end of life, it was kinda sad.
a visit here is never complete without a trip to the animal sanctuary. it was a beautiful warm fall day to visit with our animal friends.
