beginning of the end

we have reached the halfway point of summer, where i can tell the rest is going to go by fast. the baby acorns falling on the deck is my sign that the beginning of the end is near.

i've been tracking the date of the first acorn fall for 4 years now, there was a pattern until this year, but still around the same time frame.

 we got engaged in sandpoint, idaho.  WOW, what a crazy ride since then, in the best way possible!

feels like summer

catching up with friends on this beautiful summer like day

air strip

my girlfriend and i went for a walk through her neighborhood on the other side of the lake, and she took me to the old air strip.  back in the day, people used to come from the city to vacation on the local lakes, and some would even fly in.  most of the lakes had their own dance halls and were a popular place to fish, relax and enjoy summertime.  i had no idea this existed, but it was so cool to see a piece of our local history.

fishing derby

this was our first ever fishing derby, and we had so much fun!  both kids caught a fish and our neighbor got the biggest fish!  

tenants

we have four new tenants living outside our front door.  waiting for them to leave the nest so i can replace my old dead fuchsia hanging basket with a new one.

finished cleaning up and planting in the front yard planters.  excited to try some new flowers this year

hike

jarad and i hiked poo poo point today!  we did it back in fall but didn't complete it.  nothing like a good hike together to reflect, problem solve, plan and connect!

weekend crafts

the snowy weekend was the perfect opportunity to turn the dinning room table into a craft table. we have a puzzle, pearler beads and watercolor painting going on.

the kids played in the snow until there wasn't enough left to play in anymore

snow day

we wanted a proper snow day and we got it!!!  it is crazy to think it is the middle of march and we are a week away from spring, but we got a good 4-5 inches of snow!  it snowed ALL day, and we lost power for 9 hours due to a tree that fell across the road by our mailboxes.  we watched a movie, went in the hot tub, crafted, read and the kids played in the snow for hours!  it was a perfect snow day to end the season!
