about 3 weeks later and our crystal growing experiment is complete.  here is the finished product.

school is out, but i found this cute flamingo that bowie made a couple of weeks ago while cleaning.  

stepping stone

we are having record breaking heat in WA, over 110 degrees, so indoor activities it is!  mimi and bowie are painting a stepping stone activity kit.

happy belated birthday papa

i love that we get to celebrate papa's birthday during their visit!  my love language is to make your favorite cake for your birthday, and luckily i got to make jim "the best birthday cake ever."  woohoo, nailed it - chocolate cake, jamoca almond fudge ice cream, chocolate fudge topping and chocolate shavings.

cool pool

it was 108 today, which is unheard of for our area!!!  and it will be hotter tomorrow!  we turned the hot tub into the cool pool and it was quite refreshing.

dozer days

ryder's birthday celebration continues with a trip the fairgrounds for dozer days!  an event where the kids can get up close and personal with construction vehicles and even get to operate them with daddy!

lemonade

bowie helped sell lemonade and clean up from the yard sale her school hosted. 

sanctuary

their trip wouldn't be complete if we didn't take mimi & papa to the sanctuary to share our favorite animals with them.

grad celebration

after graduation the kids got to take lots of pictures and celebrate with cupcakes and ice cream sandwiches.  and ryder enjoyed playing on the swing set, he is excited to be going there this fall and for summer camp as well.  and all the kids received a cute gift, a book about going to kindergarten!

bowie pre-K graduation

so proud of bowie for all that she has learned over the last year.  due to covid, her 2020 school year was cut short and the last year has been inconsistent, but this little girl has enjoyed her preschool experience so much.  we couldn't have picked a better school or teacher and her passion and enthusiasm for her students and teaching is unmatched.  

miss jessica put on the cutest graduation ceremony.  the kids all introduced themselves and said their favorite thing about preschool and what they want to be when they grow up.  they sang songs about things they has learned like vowels, counting by tens, months of the year and days of the week, as well as lots of sweet songs about graduating and kindergarten.  they had a picture slideshow and best of all miss jessica gave them all a special individual award.  bowie received the "ray of sunshine" award and her heartfelt speech had me balling.
