landsburg dam

it is salmon spawning season and many spots on the river are hosting naturalists during the weekends in october to educate about the salmon journey.  today we went to landsburg trail where the cedar river runs and they had naturalists there talking about the salmon as well as giving tours of the water shed and dam, which is closely related to the hatchery at the location as well.  jarad and i enjoyed the tour and information, i don't think it was as exciting for the kids, but a fun event that only happens once a year.

a couple of interesting facts i learned is that cedar river (our drinking water) is one of five of the cleanest rivers in the US.  and one of four water sheds in the us that does not have to filter its water.
