pasta sauce...

i also came home to lots and lots of ripe tomatoes!  i have two different kinds growing and bowie is not a fan of the yellow pear shaped ones.  i picked them all and roasted them with some garlic, olive oil, italian seasoning and salt and them puree them with some fresh garden basil.  i made some delicious pasta sauce that we will use for a upcoming dinner party!  i also picked some and gave them to the neighbor, who was eating them out of the bag and said they were amazing!

play room...

after vacation i felt super inspired to make the front room of our house into a play room for bowie.  this room has a great view, lots of light and was being unused.  i am so happy with the way it came out and to give this room some purpose and have all her toys in one area!  all it took was some storage bins, a slip cover and some time to organize!

22 days later...

just got back from a ten day trip back east and i was so excited to come home to my dog!  then i couldn't wait to check out my kombucha.  22 days is too long, it was more acidic then i would have liked, it didn't taste bad, but almost like a mild apple cider vinegar.  i tried to do a 2nd ferment on it, but i was not prepared with air tight bottles, so it didn't come out as i had hoped.  i did drink some of my unflavored kombucha and while it was tangy, i still enjoyed it.  but i was excited to start a new batch that i can keep a closer eye on.  it was a good learning process and i also got "the big book of kombucha."  i am reading it and hopefully it will answer some of my questions.  what i did learn is this stuff is hard to mess up, as you can see i did get some bubbles from my 1st fermentation and i got a very healthy and large "baby" scoby out of it! 

corn maze with cousin...

we hit up a really cool farm and corn maze in massachusetts on one of our last few days of vacation.

these guys make a killer spaghetti and meatball and chicken parm dinner!

bowie's big cousin was showing her how to put on lipstick and wear a purse...so fun to watch them play!
