still sick over here...have i mentioned how over it i am?
when we are dealing with fevers, i will usually write down on scrap paper the time i take their temp and what it is, and of course when i give them medicine and what kind. i am not a pharmacist, so i always have a hard time remembering the difference between acetaminophen and ibuprofen and how much and how often???
here is a simple mom hack that i find useful. when i get a new bottle of pain reliever or medicine for the kids, i write what it is, how long the dosage lasts and the amount for each kid in a sharpie. this is helpful so you don't have to look it up each time.

my mama heart hurts for this one...
seeing your baby sick makes my heart hurt so much. she has had a fever on and off since friday night (and pink eye) but last night was the worst. we battled high fevers all night long and kept her cool in the tub with popsicles and cool rags.
she was so sweet telling jarad and i how much she loved us and was sweet as can be. she slept in our room with me and we watched cartoons until midnight and then i got little sleep keeping her cool, listening to her snore and worrying. i don't feel well either, but i would take it all if i could.
this morning got her into the dr. first thing and of course she didn't have a fever, but she has an upper respiratory infection and a double ear infection. i am glad we can get her on some antibiotics and feeling well again soon.
february has been a really rough month for us. started off with hand foot and mouth for both my boys, which lasted about three weeks of quarantine time for us. then pink eye and this respiratory and ear infection. i hope march bring us warmer weather and good health!
at the dr. she weighed in at 46.2 pounds and is 3 ft 7 inches tall!
and fell asleep in the car picking up her antibiotics.

ryder 20 months!
unfortunately the better part of the last month was spent being sick, but that didn't stop his playful and easy going spirit. this kid blows me away and amazes us everyday, not to mention gives us so many laughs. you are sweet, funny, curious, smart, easy going, full of dance moves and such a lover!
you love peppa pig, trains and peg dolls! trains are becoming a favorite of yours and your go to toy to grab. you love to line them up and roll them along the windowsill. you also point out all trucks when we are driving and get very excited at the big ones! you are also enjoying sensory play and especially love anything that i set up outside and rainbow rice. you let me know when you want a new activity by bringing your rain boots to the front door and pointing for me to open it (since i have been setting up our activities under the breeze way in the front yard). you also love playing at the kitchen table alongside bowie with play dough and coloring books.
your vocabulary is building and you are saying new words all the time. you love to read books and have your favorites. you especially love the dada book, the goodnight construction site and a train book. when you wake up you will point to your books and demand to read in your crib. we also learned (the tough way) that you need both peppa and george pig to sleep with (after your sister had hidden your george doll).
you have a love of animals and of course wilfred. you love to feed him and always bend down to give him some love and a kiss. you are really good at your animal sounds, and my favorite is the squished nose you make for a bunny.
we have started doing some activities during bowie's preschool time. you are enjoying toddler time and little gym. you are building confidence and feel comfortable to leave my side. however, going to the gym is still a no go for you. well...we had success with the kids room one night recently, but have not been able to repeat that since.
you LOVE to play and are SOOO good at it. i am constantly impressed by your effortless ability to play independently. you are your fathers son. i know he can't wait for you to get into the lego phase.
since giving up milk and the bottle you have been a good eater. a little pickier with some food that you previously liked, but i am always trying to introduce new foods to you and for the most part you are good about trying. currently you are loving blueberries and chicken nuggets. you always ask for a "bar" (cereal, granola or fruit and nut bar) but you never seem to enjoy them all that much? you also recently started saying "wa wa" for water.
one of my most favorite qualities about you and i hope one that you never lose, is how sweet and affectionate you are. you will always come over to me in the middle of playing and give me a hug or kiss or pat and say "mama." it melts my heart. and my most favorite thing you say and you say it quite often is "uh oh...mama!" it makes me laugh every time.
my sweet baby boy, we adore you so. to know you is to be crazy, head over heels in love with YOU!

calming bottles
i love it when someone feels inspired by one of our activities, recipes or DIY's to try it themselves. this one came from my sister jamie, who made her own sensory bottles for my niece. didn't they turn out beautiful?!?!?!?

cupcakes!
cupcakes make the best medicine! bowie is doing a little better today, a low grade fever with chills, and ryder had a low fever as well. we all napped, but needed to get out of the house. so cupcakes before dinner it is!

sickie!
ugh, seeing her not feel well breaks my heart. she has a mild case of pink eye and a high fever. lets hope it is short lived and no one else gets it.
