in my efforts to eat well and work out more efficiently, i have noticed that i rely on the scale to tell me how successful i am. but the truth is that i noticed changes in my body long before the numbers on the scale started to change. i am very proud of my commitment and all the progress i have made. sometimes it feels slow, but i know this is a lifestyle and not a fad diet.
it is important to be happy in your own skin and not compare yourself to others. i am working towards a health goal and i have come a long way. i have lost weight, gained muscle, become more toned and am overall feeling great. i don't always make perfect food choices, but i don't let myself feel badly about it either. i practice eating well most of the time and exercise a lot, so it's okay to splurge every once in a while. if we always feel deprived and hungry that would be no fun. i am having fun experimenting in the kitchen to find new ways to make healthier versions of the food we crave, which tends to not be so good for you. and lately i have been addicted to a weekly fro yo date with jarad at yogurtland or penguins. i realize that i can not be defined by a number on a scale, and that each day is a new opportunity to eat well, exercise and recommit to your health goals, so don't obsess about yesterday!

Congrats to you for all your hard work! :) I've seen a placed called Penguins near Knob Hill/PCH... I've always wondered what it was. I assumed it was some sort of cafe. I go by it when I nanny & we're walking to the beach. Now I'm guessing it's the same froyo place? I'm also guessing since you go there it must be delicious. Matt & I need to try it.
