lactation cookies!

i posted this recipe when i was breastfeeding bowie, but it is so good it is worth posting again!  my sister was kind enough to send my mom up with a bag of the dry ingredients for these lactation cookies and my mom baked them up when we were still in the hospital.  do they work?...i am not really sure, but anything that will help keep up my supply and tastes yummy i am all about!  they really are a basic chocolate chip oatmeal cookie recipe with a few extra ingredients to help keep up my supply.

● 2 Sticks of Butter
● 2 Eggs
● 1 Cup Sugar
● 1 Cup Brown Sugar
● 2 Cups Flour
● 1 tsp Salt
● 1 tsp Baking Soda
● 2 tbsp Flax Seed
● 4 tbsp Water
● 4 tbsp Brewers Yeast (Whole Foods Sells this)
● 3 Cups Old Fashioned Oats
● 1 Cup Chocolate Chips (Or Chunks, or Peanut Butter Chips - whatever you like)
● 1 tsp Vanilla

**this is not included in the recipe, but fenugreek can also be added.  it is available at health food stores as well as a bulk spice section at your market.  if you are taking fenugreek to help boost your milk supply, you have to take A LOT of it!  they say you will know you are taking enough of it when you start to smell like maple syrup**

cream together butter, eggs and sugar with mixer.  then add in dry ingredients until combined.  allow dough to chill for at least 30 minutes.  roll into 1 inch balls and bake at 350 degrees until golden brown (approx 10-12 min).

makes about 4 dozen cookies
