one thing i did not expect to happen when i started painting about a couple months ago was the relationship and attachment i would feel towards my sketchbook. in fact, it took me a few weeks of practicing to figure out that i needed a sketchbook. i saw other artists use them and now i get it. it feels less scary and intimidating to work in a small 5 x 5 inch book rather than a large sheet of paper. it's a collection of progress and building new techniques. i get excited to try something new each day and every completed picture feels like an accomplishment! i look forward to visiting my sketchbook daily and looking through all the old paintings and finding inspiration for new ones!
these fall pictures make up the last few pages of my first sketchbook. it feels like a fun accomplishment to look back on the last two months of watercolor practice. i have a few favorites; the first bubbles i did, these shimmer leaves, the bugs and the blue mountains. i am excited to dive into a fresh new sketchbook and continue to grow in this art.
