jarad and i have lived in our new place for 5 months now. most of the decorating and house projects have been completed with one big one lurking over us, the living room. we both had old hand me down sofas that we brought to our new place, and knew that eventually we would get a new one. well the time has come, and decorating our living room was put on hold until we had something more permanent in there. so here is the before and after pics of our new and improved living room, my new favorite room of the house.

i have a johnny cash painting on canvas, that i have yet to get stretched. i love it so much and couldn't wait to hang it. jarad came up with this inventive way to hang it up with clamps that you can get at the hardware store.
we also got around to putting up the christmas lights (the old fashioned kind that are pastels and twinkly) and a mini tree.
The room is beautiful, I couldn't have done it better and I'm an old interior designer by trade and degree. It really is quite a transformation. A very cool space...great job.
