heritage doll

today bowie is turning in a homework assignment to make a heritage doll.  they are learning about the different continents on the map and had to pick one country that their family is from to make a doll out of.  we chose finland.  we found it on a map, we looked at pics of her great great grandma hilja and learned some interesting facts about her country.

we learned that finland is known to be one of the happiest countries with the cleanest air.  they are also known as the country of 1,000 lakes because they have so many lakes.  they make the best pancakes, and our family has been making these thin roll up pancakes because grandma hilja taught us how.  and they love their saunas.
