gardening

in the PNW they say it is usually safe to start planting after mothers day, but this spring is particularly cold and wet.  so i have been waiting to find the right time to re-do our planters.  even though we had a very wet weekend, there were some beautiful patches of sunshine as well, so i found some time to get some flowers and do a little gardening.

i don't have much of a green thumb, but in the past i have planted marigolds (because they remind me of my grandma) and coleuses (shade plants) and they have done well.  so sticking with what i know and has worked in the past.  next project will be to plant our strawberry pots and figure out what veggies and herbs to grow.  we have had little luck with veggies, but our strawberries are exploding!  my friend gave me 10 strawberry starts years back and they have taken off, we even have strawberries growing in the cracks in the pavement.
