bowie has had a slow start to the school year. we are two months into school and her teacher FINALLY has returned after a bad foot break and surgery. her substitute teacher was very nice and kind, but inexperienced and i firmly believe that our first grade experience compared to our friends has been exceptionally lacking in all subjects. her poor teacher is coming back to school and will be teaching these kids as if it were the first day of school again. i am hopeful the rest of the year will be a positive experience and we will get caught up. this is my second week of volunteering with her teacher and she is settling in nicely and i love seeing much more work coming home!
