anyone else feeling overwhelmed by the amount of candy left over from halloween? we have enjoyed it for a couple of weeks now, but we still have a ton left. i had the kids dump out all their remaining candy and pick out 10 pieces they want to keep for themselves. then we sorted out the chocolate from the rest of the candy. the chocolate will become the "chocolate chips" of our cookies and the rest will get donated.
use your favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe and substitute your chopped up halloween candy in place of the chocolate chips. we are using M&M's, reeses, snickers and hershey bars. i am using my all time favorite cookie recipe, browned butter peanut butter oatmeal chocolate chip cookie! once the dough is completed, i rolled it into one inch balls and into the freezer for another time. now we can have warm fresh monster cookies later in the season.
