lactation cookie recipe...

not sure how well these work, but it is a good excuse to eat cookies.  i compared a lot of cookie recipes and the key ingredients that make these good for your milk supply is; flax seed, brewers yeast and oats (fenugreek is optional - i left it out).  it is pretty much a basic cookie recipe with those additional ingredients.  of course i made these chocolate chip, but you could add whatever else you like.

ingredients:

● 2 sticks of butter
● 2 eggs
● 1 cup sugar
● 1 cup brown sugar
● 2 cups flour
● 1 tsp salt
● 1 tsp baking soda
● 2 tbsp flax seed (ground meal)
● 4 tbsp water
● 4 tbsp brewers yeast (can be found at most health food stores)

 ● 3 cups oats
● 1 cup chocolate chips

 ● 1 tsp vanilla

 how to:

just like any other cookie recipe, cream the wet ingredients and slowly mix in the dry ingredients.  then roll into 1 inch balls and bake for 12-16 minutes.   i used my ninja blender to grind up the oats for a cookie with less texture, but this step is optional.  these cookies taste great, but i found the texture to be too crispy for me, i prefer a chewy and soft cookie, so next time i would take them out a little sooner.   you can freeze them in a ziplock bag and eat one a day for your milk production.  and anyone can eat these, the extra ingredients will not do any harm.  this would make a great gift for a new mom!!!
