more rock hunting...

i love this rock hunting game, it is a bit addictive.  but it promotes generosity, giving and creativity.  when we went to the arboretum to look for rocks we saw lots of families there doing the same thing!  it forces you to stop and look around at nature, picking up small details and to be aware of the beauty around you.  and it is exciting when you do find a rock!  but the other part is you have to participate in posting your finds on the facebook page.  we went as a family after the gym one evening and we found a rock obviously done by a youngster, and i posted online and the mom responded how her daughter was so happy we found it and actually posted it online!

i need to get better supplies so i can continue to paint rocks and hide them, but until then we will continue to rock the arboretum a couple of times a week for some hunting.  here are our recent finds and keeps.  some of these rocks are so pretty we have been keeping them and putting them in our potted plants.  other times we rehid them to keep the game going.  don't worry, we are not breaking any rules, you can chose to keep or rehide them!

  1. I'm in love with the rock game too and planning to make some of my own to hid when I visit you again. I would love to see this adopted by other communities. It only fosters goodness, generosity, creativeness and fun for all.
