grapat!!!

our first purchase of "grapat" brand toys arrived and i am in LOVE!!!  these are the "palos" sticks and resemble a gnome.  they stand almost 3 inches tall and are beautiful in color with their little eyes poking out.  18 pieces in total for the ultimate open ended play experience.

if you have a passion for high quality wooden toys or are looking to add something extra special to your play room, i highly recommend looking into grapat toys (although they can be hard to find in the states).  it is a family run business in spain by the cutest couple.  they make mostly peg dolls and loose parts and they are gorgeous!!!!!!!!!!  when the kids outgrow these (if they ever do, because even i am loving playing with them) i plan on giving each kiddo 9 as a heirloom toy for their own family to enjoy.  the really cool thing about making an investment in your toys is that it can be enjoyed by future generations and they never go out of style.  as opposed to a fixed toy (a toy that serves one purpose) these can be used in many ways and really strike up the imagination.
