mothers day shopping!

mothers day is just about a week away, and i did most of my shopping last week. i am making a promise to buy local and small business for all gifts this year.  here are a few of the stores/women i am buying from.

on etsy the sunshine co.  this is their story below and also a local washington mama.  they have cute shirts at great prices.  perfect for a sister, friend, co-worker, sister in law, cousin...

"The Sunshine Company was established in 2016 because of our daughter, Blake Avery. Blake passed away in August from a genetic disease called Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type 1. She was with us for almost 11 months and taught us so many things about life. One of the most important things is to smile and laugh. By wearing one of our shirts, we hope to bring a smile to you or someone else. We want to spread a little bit of the sunshine that Blake has given to us along with awareness of SMA."

i will also be ordering from clever chicks confections.  she makes the most gorgeous cookies and cakes!  a local mama to our area, and she has some beautiful moms day cookie kits.  click here to find her on facebook.

there is also a company called "she loves pretty" and i am kinda obsessing over her "over the rainbow" earrings.  click here to check her out!

but when jarad asks me what i want, all i can come up with is a cinnamon wheel from papa murphys and some peace and quiet.  there truly is nothing that i want or need.  i'll be making my famous granola next week for some friends and neighbors and making sure to call, text, video and send cards to all the special ladies in our lives.
