we had a great visit with poppi and patricia. it was nice for the kids to get to meet and know their great grandfather, who was a big part of my life growing up. and i have never had the chance or opportunity to spend more than a short amount of time with patricia, usually at family get togethers. so i enjoyed getting to know her and see how happy they are together as a couple.
we all got to talk about mama bev and share stories, which was something we had not done with poppi since her passing. i think he enjoyed seeing lots of their old art work and her things around our house. we were laughing about a funny story of hers, and patricia said, "i wish i knew her, i think we would have liked each other a lot." and i think that comment was very sincere and true. i felt mama bev looking down on us this weekend and smiling with a full heart and her approval.
