lentils...

they are my most favorite material for sensory play, they are smooth, slippery and make a rain like sound when used with wooden bowls.  they are very calming.  with ryder being mobile we have to be extra careful with sensory play and usually only do it during his naps.  i tried a new set up and it was a big success.  i set up her tray on the kitchen counter and she stood on her stool to play while i cleaned the kitchen.  i was sure i would be sweeping up lentils for days, but that was not the case, we both got our work done!
