rainbow smoothie!

straight out of meri cherry's book, this invitation to create immediately caught bowie's attention!  it is bright and colorful and who doesn't love the look of a too pretty to eat milkshake?!?!

bowie's rainbow smoothie creation!

what you need:

glass or bottle to fill (this is an irish coffee mug from dollar tree)
funnel
salt
food coloring
white glue
small glass beads for sprinkles
paper straw
red pom pom for cherry on top

prep work:

i dyed the salt ahead of time by using a few drops of food coloring and shaking.  i set everything up on a tray. i first put the straw in the glass and she used a funnel to fill and layer the glass with her colored salt.  when she got to the top you squeeze a layer of glue to completely cover the top (it creates a seal) and use your glass beads as sprinkles and of course a pom pom on top as a cherry.

the hard part is getting her to understand this is for decoration and pretend only, but it is so beautiful and fun to do!
