today's activity came out of necessity. the kids have been playing with play dough all day everyday since i made the new kits. our play dough is needing some refreshing, so bowie and i made two new batches today. this is my go to recipe for play dough, i have tried a lot and this is by far the best and comes from meri cherry's play make create book.
1 cup flour
1/3 cup iodized salt
2 t. cream of tartar
1 cup hot water
1 T oil
food coloring or liquid water colors
combine all dry ingredients and mix. then pour in your water, oil and color and mix until it becomes a loose dough. then transfer to a non-stick pan and cook on medium heat until a firm dough comes together. allow to cool and knead.
i wrap my play dough in plastic wrap and it will stay good for up to 6 months.
