making my list of everyone in school that i need to get gifts for. i am a big fan of consumable gifts, and i was planning on making granola for everyone. i was counting up all the people in bowie's school office and was getting quite overwhelmed thinking of the granola factory that my kitchen was going to turn into. i switched gears and decided to make a shareable treat for the office staff and all teachers for the lunch room. i am sure there is an abundance of sweet treats, so i decided on something savory. i had this party mix at a halloween party and it was delicious! i made a double batch put it in a cute bucket and delivered to the office, they seemed quite excited about it! everyone loves cheez-it's right?
this saved me so much time and i will still make my granola for friends, family and neighbors. and give individual teachers their own gift. i think this falls under the category of work smarter not harder.
ingredients:
21 oz (family size) box of cheez-its
3 T ranch powder
3 t dill powder
1 t garlic powder
1/2 t lemon pepper
3/4 cup oil (i used vegetable oil)
combine all spices and oil and coat the crackers. on a cookie sheet bake them at 350 for about 20-25 minutes, stirring every 5 minutes or so.
