i committed to teaching an art project to ryder's class this week. i am feeling in a bit of a creative rut and was struggling to come up with a festive activity. i saw a similar version of this craft but gave it my own spin. we are doing cardboard pastel trees with a yarn wrap. hope the kids in class enjoy these as much as we did!
cardboard cut into a large triangle
washi tape
yarn
clothes pin
sticker gems
star on top
first step for an adult to cut out the cardboard triangles. i would say they are approximately 4 x 6 inches. then decorate the triangle with washi tape. secure the yarn with hot glue to the backside of the triangle and wrap around the tree. secure the second end with tape. hot glue a star on top and decorate the tree with sticker gems. i used kwik stix to quickly paint the clothespin (optional) and pin it to the bottom for the trunk of the tree. it should stand on it's end or you can turn it into an ornament.
