birthday decorations...

i am having so much fun planning and making decorations for bowie's first birthday party, rainbow themed!  and i am having a blast finding all kinds of new uses for paint chips!  although i do need to make another home depot run for more.  so far i have turned them into book marks (as party favors) and now i am making a "happy birthday" banner out of them.  i don't normally buy magazines, so i texted my neighbor to see if she had any old ones lying around the house.  she had tons and brought them over last night with a bottle of wine (i love my neighbors, she speaks my language)!  so this morning i started to cut out letters and paste them to the paint chips, i just taped the back to some twine and i have the start to a super cute banner!

my next use for the paint is to use them to create a first birthday board.  it will include information like, how many teeth, favorite book, how much do i weigh, how tall, etc.  then i will glue them to a poster board with some pictures of her.

this has me thinking of all kinds of holiday banners you could make out of these paint chips.  pastel colors for spring and easter.  red and pink for valentine's day.  all shades of green for st. pattys day...the list goes on and on!  super fun, easy to make and best of all FREE!!!  (assuming you have magazines, tape, scissors and yarn or twine?!?!)
