jarad worked hard to lay the thin set and concrete board so he could lay the tile. he set it on the floor in 2 different patterns so i could see how i liked it. as much as we both love the tile, i knew deep down it did not fit in with the style of our home and clashed with the oak floors. i made a trip to home depot to look at other options, but pinterest to the rescue, i came up with a totally different idea!
our house is a farm house and traditional in style. we are very non-traditional people and i struggle to bring our style into the home while keeping the integrity of the house. but as i have mentioned before the entry way to our home sort of sets the tone, so i want it to feel authentic to us and make a bold statement. so...i am going with a moroccan tile. i think it will complement the oak floor, bring some much needed character and will represent our taste. i am going tile shopping later in the week, but have a good idea of what i want. it will be more expensive compared to our distressed wood tile, but it is a small entry way and this will make a big punch.
