packing activities!

tomorrow we leave for an 8 day trip back east to visit jarad's side of the family.  we have a 6 hour flight into boston and then we will stay in new hampshire and a side trip to vermont for a few days.  this trip is very different from our orcas island travel.  when we went to orcas, i was able to pack loosely since we traveled by car and i also knew the home we were staying at didn't have any toys.  i knew we would be spending a lot of time outside and at the beach, so i packed mostly art supplies to craft our nature finds.  this time around, we have a long flight to keep the kids entertained.  once in NH we will be with family and the kids will be with their cousins who are close in age, so i don't have to worry about toys.  but the side trip to vermont is another time where i am packing to keep them busy.  here is what i am bringing for the plane ride and the vermont portion of our trip!

plane ride snacks in box:

both kids will have their own box, but filled to the brim for sharing.   snacks are a life saver!  i like to pack things that they might not be familiar with and a treat. and of course a fun napkin on top!

bowie's box has: veggie straws, asain rice snack mix, craisins, red licorice, good and plenty, gold fish, belvita breakfast biscuits and dried coconut.

ryder's box has: veggie straws, cheerios, belvita breakfast biscuit, fruit snacks, chocolate chips, banana chips, cut up coconut larabar and ritz crackers.  he will also have 2 x 8oz thermoses filled with warm milk for bottles.

both kids will have an LCD writing board.  i also have some pencil bag pouches with beads and jewelry making supplies for bowie.  the other pouch has markers, pens and crayons.

each kid has a large bag packed with their own activities/toys and a few plastic mats to lay over the tray.

bowie's bag includes: journal and stickers, play dough and 3 play dough kits (one for each leg of the flight and one for the trip).  the play dough kit themes are; frozen, unicorn and paw patrol.  she will also have her tablet loaded up with some games and shows.

ryder's bag includes: journal with stickers, highlights books, pretend cell phone, favorite lion, teethers, finger puppets, peg dolls, silicone kids baking utensils.

and lastly each kid will have a stuffie (bowie chose her baby owl) and ryder will have his "george pig" and a muslin blanket.  wish us luck!!!

and a couple of other must haves!!!  pool floaties, outlet covers, hand sanitizer (and the spray kind as well) and sunscreen stick (always in my backpack!)
