shaving cream painting!

this painting technique leaves a really cool swirly marble effect on the paper that is really beautiful!  the best part about this project is that you probably have all that you need to do it!

supplies list:

~shaving cream
~tray, container or baking sheet (to hold shaving cream)
~art paper
~food coloring or liquid watercolors
~stick, skewer or fork (to swirl color around)
~spatula

how to:

in a dish pan sized container i poured in a large amount of shaving cream and added lots of drops of liquid watercolor (you can substitute with food coloring as well).  i gave bowie a skewer and let her swirl the colors around making pretty designs (you can't go wrong here).  then we took a piece of art paper and laid it on top of the colored shaving cream, making sure it was completely covered.  then we took it out of the shaving cream and laid it on a tray and used a spatula to remove all the shaving cream and revealed the beautiful marble painting behind.

we reused the shaving cream and added more liquid watercolors so we could make more prints!
