we have a lot of new changes and growth in our garden box in the last week. the most exciting part is that our squash and cucumbers are growing flowers, which means we should start to see some veggies soon!
squash...
cucumbers...
we also have one strawberry that is getting big and red, and i know jarad has his eye on it, so he can pick it and eat it. in summer, i think we made the mistake of waiting too long to pick the strawberries and they went bad before we got to eat them, which also attracted the fruit flies.
the strawberry plant also has one stem that has grown well over a foot long.it has a flower on the end, but i am not sure if it will actually bloom.
the tomatoes are looking better than they did last week, we have some new flowers and jarad says we have some new tomatoes too. we have several small tomatoes and one large one. i am hoping with the change in weather we will get to sample these sometime soon before they hibernate for the winter.
we are expected to have rain all weekend long, so we will transplant our broccoli raab and lettuce sprouts early next week. they are doing very well in their little green house and have grown tremendously in a week and a half. we will also put a lattice up soon for the cucumbers and squash.
